Become a Commissioner
Commissioners are the voting delegates of General Council. Half of the 358 Commissioners are lay members of congregations, and half are ministry personnel. The majority are elected through their Conference.
Some serve by virtue of having been elected to another role, such as president-elect, or representative to the Executive of the General Council.
The Moderator, the immediate Past Moderator, the General Secretary, and a number of other members of the Executive of the General Council also become Commissioners. Lay or ministry personnel who are serving overseas elect a number of Commissioners as well.
If you are interested in being a Commissioner for the 41st General Council, contact your Conference Office to learn more about the election process in your Conference.
If you've already been selected as a commissioner, you will recieve an personalized e-mail invitation to complete an online registration 2-3 weeks following your Conference Annual General Meeting.
